Dobrogea brick
Dobrogea fired brick from loess clay. In old walls, where the plaster has fallen, you see the brick: red or yellow-red, sometimes with crushed shell in the mortar. You read it from the pavement.
What you recognise
Small format, thick joints, the colour of fired clay. Beside it, on some peninsula façades, the pale plaster reads differently from the wall: peninsula colours. Do not confuse them: one is the brick, the other is the face of the wall.
Where, without going in
Old houses in Constanța, Tulcea, Medgidia, plateau villages. An old school or an inn, from the street: old schools, inns that remain. If it is a building site, do not lean over the fence.
What you do not do
Do not break a piece off. Do not wet the wall to bring the colour out. Do not enter a yard. A brick on the ground is not a souvenir.
