On the road
Semnul «drum închis» iarna, la Măcin
The Măcin Mountains lie in north-west Tulcea county, between the Danube, the Luncavița valley, and the Cerna–Horia watershed. In winter a road-closed sign means the sector beyond is not open. It is not an invitation to drive around the barrier.
Pe unde se ajunge
Măcin National Park administration describes access thus: west and south-west, national road 22D between Măcin and Horia. North, European route E87, Măcin–Jijila–Luncavița. East and north-east, county road between Horia and Luncavița. Those are the low roads. A forestry track, quarry road, or ridge path does not replace them when a sign says closed.

Ce e creasta, și de ce nu o începi iarna târziu
The park has marked trails, not a car road on the summit. Pricopan ridge, starting near Măcin, is a circuit of about 14 km, blue band, with exposed crest sections: for an average hiker that means 5–6 hours with breaks, not a two-hour stroll. Țuțuiatul starts from Greci. In December the sun sets around 16:30. A circuit started at noon ends in the dark on granite. We do not give a winter ridge route or say when a forestry road closes: the administrator sets the date on a sign or on parcmacin.ro.
Ce faci la panou
Read the sign, turn back, stay on DN or E87. Do not leave the car “just past the bend”, do not walk around the barrier to catch a marker, do not climb in the dark to descend by torch. Granite holds ice. Autumn without leaves and without crest ice is another guide: Măcin without leaves.
Taxa de pe traseele marcate
On the park tourism page, entry to marked trails is 10 lei per person, valid two days, at machines in Greci and Cetățuia, at the Tulcea office or the Măcin work point. If parcmacin.ro changed the figure, that is the fee, not here.
