History

Demostene Tranulis, the man behind the Fantasio Theatre and a support for “Mircea cel Bătrân” High School and for the community church, made himself an Art Nouveau house in 1914. Other dates from his life (1900, 1925, 1927) belong to business and donations, not to masonry; the house, however, is what has remained on the street.

The roof has fallen, the upper floor has been lost, the interior is empty, and in places the walls have been “patched” with new materials. Of the Art Nouveau of 1914 there remain fragments of framing and the imprint of the plan.

You look from the fence and leave. It is a reminder of how quickly a town house disappears if it stands open to the rain, not an interior attraction.
