History

Gheorghe Fărcășiu and Iliya Yankov worked together a piece that looks like a site fragment: forms of a vessel, a wall, a sign, without copying a museum piece. The title, “Archaeological Signs”, draws its sap from Dobruja — former Tomis is two steps away, and the sculpture speaks that language, in a contemporary key.

The surfaces are made to seem worn. The placement in Constanța makes sense for just that reason: it is not resort décor, it is a comment on the place where people have been digging for a century.

Read the title, then see if you recognize the profile of an amphora or a wall. That is all. The rest is a walk.
