History

Between Neptun and Olimp, behind the resorts at Mangalia, begins a wood planted in 1903–1906, when the Comorova lagoon was drained and replaced with pines and broadleaves. Before the twentieth century, here was water and reed, not walking shade.

The paths are of earth, without wide alleys. In summer it is cooler than on the beach, you hear frogs from the remaining pools, and if you stray a little you come on compact zones where the sun does not pass. It is a place for running, a short picnic or an escape from the sunbed, not for kiosks.

Entrances are on the secondary roads from Neptun and Olimp. Keep to the paths, avoid fire, and do not count on a signal or toilets. After a summer rain, the mud holds.
