Family and access
Solo travel
Dobrogea walks well alone: a train, a seafront, a museum, a morning boat. Tell someone the timetable. In the Delta, cash and a weak signal. This is not an "empowerment" guide - it is a list of things that break when there is no second ticket.
Transport
The Constanța train is the most predictable. The Sulina boat needs a thought-through return ticket. Off-season buses thin out - do not be left "between Histria and the village" after the last run. A taxi from Tulcea to a bank is an option, not a three-day plan.
Beds
The towns hold rooms all year. The Delta, in winter, does not. Book. Tell the guesthouse the boat hour. A plan B in Tulcea or Constanța beats a night on a quay.
Signal and money
Offline maps. A power bank. Cash. A message to a contact before the dead zone. 112 if you catch a signal.
Pace
Three stops a day, not twelve. In the evening, a lit place - a town seafront, not an empty breakwater after a storm. Protocol and etiquette stay the same: you are not invisible just because you are alone.
The Delta solo
A licensed operator, a life jacket, no lotca "with a local from Facebook" without a reference. The two-day guide based in Tulcea is written for one person too.
