Nature
Caraorman Forest
Oak forest on a sand ridge, in the south of the Delta, with the same logic as Letea: permitted access, a guide where required, zero fire, zero improvisation. Caraorman village is a sandy end of the world, not a resort. Respect ARBDD.
How
Boat, transfer, an announced trail. Do not publish a “shortcut” GPX. If an operator sells a Caraorman day, ask whether it is within the reserve’s rules, not only whether it is cheap.
Landscape
Sand, forest, a quiet that breaks with a group of 20. Walk slowly. Spring is the most beautiful; summer, an oven.
The village
People, yards, a Delta pace. Protocol: a greeting, photos with permission, cash, no treating the host as an extra in the package.
Wildlife
The same distance rules. No food. No drones. Birdwatching is done with binoculars, not with extra steps.
The return
The last boat. There is no Plan B on a road. Tulcea remains the rational base for a night.
