A dry net in the yard
A net stretched in the sun, on a fence or a wooden frame, is a tool. It belongs to the fisher’s yard. You read it from the road, beside a lotca or without one. It is not an open-air museum object.
What you recognise
Meshes, lead, sometimes green or brown thread, dried stiff. Beside it, a rope, a comb, a tarred lotca. All of it belongs to the house.
Where you look from
From the lane, from the car, from a public dyke. In Jurilovca, Sarichioi, Sfântu Gheorghe, if it is out in view. Do not go past the gate. Do not touch the meshes “to see how wide they are”.
What it is not
We do not publish a GPS point on a yard. It is not a souvenir. A net on a private pontoon is not a public quay.
