History
On the façade of the Sports Hall in Constanța, at Tomis 102-104, Zoe Băicoianu (1910-1987) stretched in 1960 a relief with young people in motion. The piece is on the list of historic monuments, so it is not simple stadium décor.
You see it from the pavement, without a ticket. Look at how the bodies link in a frieze: running, jumping, effort, without falling into a propaganda poster if you read it as sculpture, not as slogan.
Combine it with a walk on Tomis. On the same boulevard there are more works from the same years; if you see them all in an afternoon, you understand what was then asked of art on public buildings.
