History
On Boulevard Tomis, in the park of the Oleg Danovski Opera and Ballet Theatre, Boris Caragea set in 1962 a young standing figure, without props. The sculptor (1906-1982), a member of the Academy, had also worked for the Bucharest Opera and for the world of George Enescu; here he left a civic piece, not a portrait.
You see it in passing, between trees and the theatre façade. In the evening, when there is a performance, the park fills; in the morning it is empty and you can walk around the work. It is not on the seafront, so you catch it if you have business in town, not only at the beach.
