Mamaia Cable Car
The beach season has closed (after 15 September). On the coast it is autumn/cold: promenade, museums, towns. Not bathing weather. Lifeguard, showers and sunbeds — only in the bathing season (1 June–15 September).

History
Since 2004, a line of cabins has linked two ends of Mamaia, for almost 2 kilometres. From above you see the resort as a strip: the sea on one side, Siutghiol on the other, the hotels in the middle. It is the simplest way to understand how narrow the land is.
The route has intermediate stations. The cabins are closed, good with children as well, but in a strong wind they stop. At sunset there is a queue; in the morning you catch a place and clearer air.
Buy a return ticket if you want to get off and walk at the other end. It is not a neighbourhood commute: it is a 15–20 minute ride, plus waiting.
